Responsibilities
- Oversees activities of the ID Departments, i.e. evaluation, selection, capacity planning, implementation, daily administration, performance tuning, sunsetting, and replacement of enterprise-level infrastructure.
- Plans, manages and controls all the system/database/network administration activities of the division.
- Sets divisional goals, and monitors the achievement of such. Defines processes and encourages best-practices that facilitate the achievement of divisional goals. Initiates and executes corrective actions in situations where the goals are not being achieved.
- Manages the ID workload and priorities to optimally assign and distribute to ID resources, aligning technical priorities with business priorities.
- Leads the tactical and strategic planning for enterprise-level infrastructure based on business plans. Adopts and champions industry best-practices for cost-effective infrastructure, e.g. consolidation, standardization, virtualization, outsourcing, etc.
- Manages the “health” of enterprise-level infrastructure thru updated vendor maintenance agreements, regular vendor preventive maintenance visits, appropriate protection facilities like anti-virus, intrusion prevention systems, firewalls and controlled network/server rooms where applicable.
- Manages the completeness of documentation for enterprise-level infrastructure configurations, and that such documentations are regularly updated and kept secure.
- Manages compliance to best-practice configuration management processes, ensuring sufficient control on changes, e.g. maker-checker functions.
- Prepares the fiscal year budget for the operations and projects of the Infrastructure Division based on business plans, and manages the expenses following the required guidelines, managing that these are within the set budget.
- Recommends technical standards for endpoint infrastructure (desktops and mobile devices) to the division head handling asset management, as such technical recommendations will ensure the optimal integration of endpoint infrastructure with central infrastructure.
- Plans and executes personnel training and development strategies for ID personnel, ensuring that ID personnel’s technical knowledge and skills are current. Encourage cross-posting and intra-division knowledge transfers.
- Handles the performance management of the ID personnel; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; namely, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
