Responsibilities
- Perform system administration and platform engineering tasks, including builds and ongoing support of multiple environments
- Drive the design and implementation of solutions in public cloud environments, primarily Azure
- Collaborate with engineers to maintain system architecture and prepare for new technical implementations (hardware, platform, product, and service deployments)
- Apply a DevOps mindset across managed areas including Azure cloud and monitoring solutions
- Serve as an escalation point for builds, implementations, and support issues across teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, highly technical environment involving public and hybrid cloud setups
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing software using object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, or Ruby
- Minimum 3 years of experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS, preferably Azure
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions (GHA) or Jenkins
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Kubernetes
- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages/tools: PowerShell, Perl, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible, YAML, JSON, and preferably Python
- Solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, distributed networks)
- Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and best practices for application deployment
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Cross-functional infrastructure experience in systems, storage, and networking
- Understanding of operating models for private cloud, IaaS, and PaaS technologies
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of features and lead them from conception to production
- Commitment to implementing best practices for operations and DevOps processes
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
