Responsibilities
- Maintain the Snowflake Data Platform
- Monitor health, performance, and growth of on-premise and cloud databases
- Provide release management support for databases and related applications
- Ensure database security and maintenance
- Manage and monitor user access (application and user level)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
- Maintain schema and database objects
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Snowflake queries and stored procedures
- Optimize queries and warehouse consumption for cost efficiency
- Create and maintain documentation as required
- Perform database problem diagnostics and resolution
- Participate in 24×7 on-call support rotation
- Follow SDLC and release management processes
- Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience managing data across relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as Snowflake, MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, and GCP BigQuery
- 3 years of experience with object-oriented or functional scripting languages: Python (preferred) and/or Java
- Experience with performance tuning of ETL jobs
- Experience working with Snowflake tools such as Streams and Tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with customers and team members
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn and deploy new technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, etc.
- Commitment to implementing best practices for operations
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, motivated, organized, and adaptable to fast-paced environments
